Hate me, I’m an Appleist. Anyway, I’m after some in ear pods, but I really don’t want the AirPods Pro version, based solely on the fact they’re only available in white.

What would you recommend that’s the nearest match, ie as compatible as possible with iOS and also available in black/dark grey? Or do I just have to suck it up and suffer the AirPods Pro?

I did browse to see if there was anything like the D Brand skins for ear pods, but even if there was, I’m not convinced they wouldn’t look utterly st!

I have a pair of EarFun Airs (in white but they also come in black) and they are great value for money; 5 star rating on What HiFi if that's of any credence to you. Also listed as the EarFun TW200 in some locations.

I'm not 100% sure how well they work with iPhone etc but I have the Google Pixel buds (1st series) for my pixel phone, I know they connect to iPhone as I connected them to my work phone once (iPhone XR).

The Pixel buds pro are available in colours other than white.

Bose QC Earbuds 2 and Sony XMF 5 (or 4, or 3) are good (I prefer them both to my AirPods, although they don’t integrate as seamlessly with Apple devices). Bose for noise cancelling and Sony for sound quality

Beats Studio Buds?

I’ve got Jabra Elite 7 Pros as they were given to me. They’re actually really good and work well with my iPhone 11. But the Beats should work more smoothly with Apple products, and they seem to get pretty good reviews for sound quality.

If you want as close to airpods functionality but different colours then Beats will be your best bet.

I like my Galaxy EarBud2's.

But Apple have probably programmed things so they sound st from an iPhone and/or cause permanent tinnitus.

Another vote for Samsung ear pods pro 2 (or whatever they are called).

I bought mine for about £70 and they are very good

The Samsung buds are a lot better when used with a Samsung phone, iPhones and other Android phones aren't supported as well.

https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-buds...

They will work with an iPhone but just like using airpods with an android not to the best of their ability and missing some of the features.
