Need some new tyres and was thinking of getting a halfords mobile fitter to do it on the drive but was wondering if the mobile balancer machines are as accurate as one bolted to a concrete floor in a garage?

Would have thought the suspension in the van would throw out the measurement to some degree.

Anyone have any knowledge on this?

I wouldn't worry about it.

I've had tyres fitted by a mobile fitter and they're balanced fine.

Dont think its an issue given most companies now offer some sort of mobile service. The modern machines are fairly clever.

I had the rears done on my 911 many years ago by a mobile guy so probably on a much older machine and had no issues and that included some high speed runs on an airfield where any issues would have shown up.

I've just had new tyres all round. Fitted and balanced by Halfords, the car has never felt so smooth. The fitter did an amazing job.
