I've tried various combinations, but have at last come up with the ideal breakfast dish-
Two slices of Kingsmill 'Moreishly Malted' thick sliced, toasted to just this side of starting to burn, thickly spread with Hartleys Thick Cut 'rich and bitter' marmalade. No need for butter etc, just the marmalade and the toast.Try it, I'm sure you will agree.

Sorry, but a bacon sandwich (white bread) with brown sauce wins by a country mile.

As of next week Brown Sauce becomes illegal under new EU directives.

Ketchup is much nicer anyhow.

What's with this NO BUTTER malarkey

That's just wrong. There's only one reason not to use butter, and that's when you're using fried bread (And yes, I do mean with marmalade)

No chance! The French own the Brown Sauce - so they will ignore the directive. We can smuggle it in across the channel.

Totally agree - except for the marmalade.

I prefer Robinsons Silver Shred.

Or sometimes Roses Lime or Lemon and Lime.

Or a nice clear honey.

No, no, no. You're all wrong.

Toast (white, thick sliced), Carapelli spread and MARMITE (must be made by another person and brought to your bed with a cup of coffee, white, one sugar). That's the perfect breakfast

I would agree apart from our differing views on champagne...
