Placed an order through a lease broker for a 118i that was in stock. Broker came back yesterday to say no delivery timescale because there isn't a fix for a recall.

I've hassled the broker and spoken to BMW UK Customer services. They say the recall included the fix and the parts, the dealer just needs to order the parts if they don't have them.

Broker (I can't speak to dealer direct until they are ready to deliver the car) says the dealer needs more info from BMW Germany and doesn't have a timescale!

Anybody know anything about this recall? I chose an instock car because I need a car but as things stand nobody can give me any indication of a timescale for a fix!

Thanks

Because my car had been registered I had the reg so rang bmw uk. They confirmed tge recall but they say there is a fix, dealer says needs more info from bmw! Would be useful to know if others are having the same issue!

Aslong as my lease gets to me before mid October, I'm happy to wait but weird that multiple models have been effected

I've been told that the fix is chassis specific and BMW not the dealers are determining the priority order of fixes. My car is registered and at the dealer but still no date for a fix. Seems ridiculous and assume not a serious problem as cars already on the road are not going to be fixed until cars that are yet to be sold / released to customers are fixed!

I assume this is all F40 118is?

I haven't heard of this anywhere else but interested to know more (considering mine is 3years old)

No - it’s only very recent F40’s. Yours will be fine.
