I'm confused, if you do 4 on 4 off you won't be working mon-thurs every week?

4 on 4 off = 8 days, so no. Week 1 is Mon - Thur, week 2 is Tue - Fri, week 3 is Wed - Sat and so on.

Still doesn't seem terribly complicated to me though...

Apart from the fact the OP said team 1 will be Mon-Thurs EACH WEEK, and the other team fri-sun

nope sorry. maybe i could have phrased that better

the basic shift pattern i'm aiming for is a 4 on 4 off style shift pattern where the team members will rotate through

but the needs of the business are 2 team members mon - thur 24 hours and 3 team members fri sat sun 24 hours.

just looking to see if anyones come across any decent rota planning based on shift requirements will give rota cloud a look though and report back smile

Take a look at Rotageek

I've not used it, but it appears many big businesses have. smile

No idea about software, but a 4 on 4 off does not seem to be a suitable solution when you need more team members some days and less others.
