Completed Targa Top

The build only took about 30 minutes to complete. Even had time to install "custom" seats . All possible by the (not so) magic of MS Paint.

Apparently the Ultima Targa Top is not in favor, apologies to the builder(s)/owner(s) of this fine GTR example. Hopefully a few of you out there find it as sharp as I do...ultimaandy, k wright?

This looks very possible actually. With a pair of Can-am doors or maybe just the can-am's door hinges!

bit of stengthening will be needed though.

Exactly: a pair of canam doors, the canam style windshield brace and the canam rear bulkhead that is removable and a new modified roof. If you add the canam engine cover you will have a car for all seasons.

Personally, I think a targa version would be an all season car as it is with no need to change parts around. Do you think it can be done with the front roll hoop? If the CanAm door hinges are already stronger than the GTR hinges, what needs strengthening?

Can-am body can be fitted to a GTR chasis, I've seen it done on the club web site, it didn't have the front roll cage though.

Looking out of window right now and seeing the rain and wind thats trying to lift of the roof of my house!
I have only one thing to say. I'm going out in my GTR, and I know while I live in England I want a perminent roof. So good luck boys, I'll keep my time playing with engine mods etc, with the sound fact that it don't leak in the rain.




PS I'll buy a Can-AM when I retire to the States.

I took mine out yesterday too, I never got wet and it was better than being cold as my power was down (and will remain so for a few days yet)! very nearly lost the roof to the stables too!

Isn't that what roundabouts were created for? Surely they are the automotive equivalent of a spin drier!

I remember going through a roundabout a few years ago called something like "the magic roundabout" or close to it by the locals. I can't remember where I was, but I believe it had about 5 roundabouts connected together in a circle. There is nothing magic about it, except for maybe the insurance companies...what a mess!!

14 Years ago I was in Wastington DC, and was not to happy with the fact the every round-about I came to had at least 3 set's of Traffic Lights on it !! and when driving down to Wilmington and finaly saw a proper round-about, the bloke on it stopped to let me on .

Only problem is the twits in England are puting up lights on our's now. Spoiling our FUN.

Swindon it is, I dug up my old travel map to jog my memory. It's unfortunate that an American invented the roundabout but you guys get to have all the fun, apparently the opinions of those that "matter" here didn't think the roundabout was a good idea.
