Anyone been to the Bahrain F1?
Discussion
Hi PH's, anyone been to the F1 at Sakir Circuit, thinking of going next February and staying in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Diplomatic Area, looking to find out how easy it is to get to the circuit from this hotel or area, also any other tips and experiences would be of great interest.
I used to stay at the Ibis, Seeb when I was running a motorbike race team in Bahrain. It is very easy to get to the circuit as the diplomatic area and circuit are just off the main highway. Traffic can be a pain in the .... during rush hour times. Ask the hotel if tare running a shuttle bus to the circuit but there are plenty of taxis.
I have recently watched a YouTube video about a guy who went and he showed his accomodation and how he got to and from the circuit. I believe he was a big YouTuber so should come up. it was posted this year.

Went in 2018
easy to get a taxi to the track, however at the end of the night it was a free for all. People were ignoring the official pickup point and jumping in cabs as they came onto the site. Utter chaos (ok, we did it too, but would have been there all night like loon's if we hadn't)
The track itself unless your in the paddock club is dry which is a shame, even Abu Dhabi had beer tents with not a great deal going on.
I personally wouldn't go back to Bahrain, but I would love to go back to Abu Dhabi (the track surface came from my home village back in Shropshire too !).
