F01 7 series after changing IBS sensor

After changing the IBS sensor would it need to be coded to the car or is it plugged and play?

I thought they were plug n play; its the battery that needs to be coded to the car (if replaced like for like) or registered to the car (if a different spec is used)

Had to change to battery to a new one due to some erroneous warning messages on the idrive. All of the messages have gone apart from two, which are

Parking brake only partially available and Battery discharging when stationary.

I even have to set the clock and date everytime I get in.
I've.spoken to 2 local bmw indy garages but they can't fit me in for about 2 months but gave me 2 things to sort the FSU and if not that the IBS sensor.

The new battery has been coded to the car and so far I can't find anything that could possible causi g it (but I'm no mechanic/electrician) but don't mind doing my own stuff

I think you need a closed circuit current draw test. A full scan of the car with decent software may be helpful too. BMW dealer software will have a history of current drain stored.

IMO you need to find a decent auto-sparky who knows what they're doing with stuff like this; garages tend not to have this knowledge

And as already said; a full diagnostics via BMW or someone who has the software is a good place to start

It could be soft close issues, could be a worn parking brake/failing parking brake causing the drain etc... ie it could be all sorts...

IF you take it to BMW; they'll plug it in and leave it connected overnight; that'll then tell them what's going on and what's creating the pull

Yeah; unfortunately it needs a proper looking over Unfortunately really as the F01 is generally very reliable and they fixed so much compared to the E65; that was horrendous for electrical niggles, more so the ones with a high spec/lots of toys fitted etc

Mine lasted 6 months with me before I got fed up & sold it on. Shame as it was a superb car otherwise

The F01 is deffo a good step up over the E65!

I got it to run alongside my Porsche Cayenne turbo, as the wife is disabled and she can't climb up anymore into the Cayenne.

I'm finding it OK as it's the 1st bmw I've owned, it does waft along with no fuss and this issue is causing me to

Quick update

Auto electrician reckons it's the BCM but I'll have to source the part and probably fit it as he's really busy....

Does anyone know where its located as what I've seen on a search is the us cars and it's on the left.... so could I presume it's there?
