Hi all! I'm looking at ditching the standard 16 inch wheels on my 4.2, and like to keep things fairly original but trying to find some 17 inch RL7s is a bit tricky! I don't want 18s as still want a half decent ride, so any specific wheel /tyre options people would recommend?

Cheers

Congrats on your first post in ten years

Some people like Speedlines, I reckon the SP12s do suit the car

Here's some useful info from BossCerbera

Epic lurking biggrin

I put rota wheels on mine when I went from 16” to 17”. They were skyline fitment as i recall, a thin spigot ring was required for the centre. Lighter than the TVR cast wheels too.

Ha ha - yes, long time lurker as found the answers I needed most of the time! I was trying to see what the offset on the Skyline wheels were actually. I believe the Cerbs are ET35 all round, for the 17in RL7s. For exact specs, there's not many 17in wheels around. These look tasty ( https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/speedline-corse-21... ) but 18 only.

17x8 - 17x9 ET35 will do you well enough. You could go lower on et with 8's

Then just any 114.3 x 5 wheel (Jap fit), check out Driftworks for inspiration (use their filter).

Plenty of cool, lighter wheels out there.

Changing the ET on the fronts will change the Scrub Radius, which will affect stability especially under heavy braking on uneven surfaces

My car feels more planted and no longer tramlines. It’s likely that oem geometry is sub-optimal and lower ET improves it.

That would be suggesting TVR got it perfect to start with.. SP12's run Et36 and it is noted how they improve the car.

I am running ET35, as is a mate, and we both note the improvement in the handling.
