Converting from Clutch Fork to Hydraulic Release Bearing
Discussion
I have a 93 TVR Chimaera with the 4l Rover V8 and LT77 Transmision. I want to change from a clutch fork and slave cylinder to a hydraulic throw-out bearing. I am assuming that this has been done by someone on here before? I am looking for a source and part number for the kit that was used.
Really?
Are you not just building in complexity?
At the moment if the slave cylinder fails, it is a simple job to rectify; probably 30 mins work.
If you go with the hydraulic release bearing then that is a gearbox out job.
Having removed and replaced the gearbox on a Chimaera on two occasions, I would not like to have to do it for a 3rd time.

Agreed, and it's even worse with an LT77 as you have to seperate the bellhousing from the engine before you can seperate the box from the bellhouse, T5 you can seperate the box from the bellhousing insituAre you not just building in complexity?

I responded to you on Facebook to ask if you'd replace the ball the arm pivots on, because either the arm or pivot point have failed and you said you'd replaced the arm so why not replace the ball now (probably can do in situ) before pulling everything apart?
