Hello Everyone

Appreciate if anyone can help. Made a thread the other day but didn't explain myself properly.

I am looking at buy a car private sale from someone in Republic of Ireland. Car is a UK car that was exported in 2021. Still has UK plates but showing with export marker on DVLA and Total Car Check. Car has been stored and was never registered in ROI.

Spoke to customs today who says if seller reimports the car VAT relief can be claimed so that I don't have to pay it (which I may be liable for if I import it myself).

Got a few questions:

1. Has anyone done this before and know what needs to be provided by the seller and what kind of time it takes. I have a link to the page but its an online live form only
2. Is there a way of me proving the seller has ownership of the car. In the UK I would check logbook and use the HPI clearance from Total Car Check.
3. Any recommendations of getting it back to England. Don't think I can drive it back as it would need to be MOT'd and Insured on arrival, and its actually quite a long way.

Thanks for any in sites/experience anyone might have.
