"chunky" replacement for Jeep Renegade?!

Not exactly a "which Ferrari should I take rallying" thread...
My partner's had a 2015 diesel Jeep Renegade for a few years now, and it's getting on a bit - lots of little things are starting to fail, and we could probably get 5 grand for it still.
She likes the looks of the Jeep, the high driving position, the fact it's short and easy to park, the near 50mpg average and the 35 quid road tax. And then it's got heated seats, a heated steering wheel... We've got one little kid, so the Jeep is kind of the perfect size.
What the hell do you replace it with?! We've a budget of maybe £15,000 which doesn't go far at the moment.
So far I've thought about:
2020ish BMW i3 - I haven't had an electric car before, no idea what running costs and maintenance are like.. Battery at least seems to have an 8 year warranty, so I'd probably look at PCP'ing something for 4 years.
VW T-Roc - She likes these, so there's that. No idea what VW reliability is like these days - is the 1.0l 3 cylinder solid? They're fairly holding there value, so a bit tricky to justify.
VW T-Cross - Meh(!). Good size, a bit ugly.
Ford Puma - They'll drive great, but they're not "chunky" looking, so I feel a bit like I'm persuading her into something she doesn't want. £1000+ timing belt costs when you get to 10 years too..
Please tell me I'm missing something fantastic! Honestly, I'm quite taken by the i3, but it's also a bit of a step into the unknown and I'm not sure it's the time or the moment!

I know, it's not traditional chunky, but it's different and I love the doors.
She does about 40 miles a day, mostly dual carriageway. Maybe 10k a year.

You're not missing anything, just looking for a few opinions/experiences I guess. Sure, high teens - 20 grand gets you a newer Renegade, but it's basically the same car, and at its heart it's a sDacia Duster?
t heap, which is why our one isn't being kept longer. The Duster's a bit cheap and cheerful. I ran one for a couple of months a few years ago and it was a boxy, rattly thing to be in too.
That Freelander is old now.. Can't be dealing with all that! Never like the Soul - big body, small wheels - just doesn't look right.
Yeti isn't a bad shout, but it's looking old inside now, and the newest are 6 years old now.. I don't mind the Kona - the raised hatch look has a chunk to it, maybe that'd get a nod..

He'll never buy Jeep again.
