For those of you ( a lot I suspect ) who do not recognise the registration number.

This is a special colour combination .... Is there a photo showing the car from the side?

Looking again at it, its a bit of a strange one, looks like it has updated rear lights from the Vixen models or from the LWB Tuscan V8

do all 4 RHD Tuscan V8 SWB have those rear lights? did they have a shortage of mk1 rear lights and started with the Tuscan V8 LWB (ala Vixen) ?

Like you I thought all SWB Tuscans had the 'Ban the Bomb' rear end treatment.

Lovely and thanks for sharing, was curious about that one.

and yes strange to see those rear lights on a SWB Tuscan, but as you said, probably at the end when thinking about the LWB Tuscan they brought those in....

or a accident happened or the owner wanted the look of the LWB variants...

I also saw in the Tuscan V8 SWB brochure (RHD example), the pictures are with the Griffith 400 side quarters... so I guess the first few came with the side quarter windows ala the Griffith 400?

next question how many originally Tuscan V8 SWB came with the side quarter windows... and how many (if any) came with the LWB Vixen rear lights...

The car used for the Tuscan SWB brochure was actually the last of the GB Griffiths built in the Martin Lilley era. It was built with a Tuscan dashboard and registered GFR 890D. In 1976 it was owned by a US service man who took it to the USA when he went home. It was reimported to the UK by David Gerald Ltd in 1989 and registered PWP 105E, The car was raced for some years in HSCC & it was usually entered as a TVR Tuscan. The car has recently been restored by its current owner and has its original registration of GFR 890D back.

As far as I know, SWB Tuscans do not have side quarter windows and VWX 891F is the only one with the Mk2 tail lights.

ah thanks, that makes some sense thumbup

I was thinking something like that (that they used a Griffith 400 with some extra's maybe for the brochure) what chassis number has that VWX-891F is it then the last one in the 200/oxx serie? otherwise strange it has those rear lights.

According to the car's second owner, who successfully hill climbed and sprinted the car from 1968 to 1971, the car was the last one built despite being only number 014. It was built for Martin Lilley's girlfriend and registered 3 MKT, this could be why the car has the Mk2 tail lights. It seem she did not have it long because it was stolen in London. Car was recovered and then sat in the workshop gathering dust until bought in 1968. The reg was later transferred to the first of the MAL Tuscan V8s for the young lady.

that is some story, good info and indeed strange it has 200/014 as the last one, I know higher numbers SWB but those are not the last one's

maybe they saved the number 014 for some reason and added it later?

In France there is a strange SWB Tuscan for sale with a number that never been soled, they said it has always been raced or so there is a old FIA paper with it but there's some things wrong with it, its not a 1967 real one, more a replica ala Cobra 1967 but made way later and stamped in some chassis number or so.
