We have had a Vito dualiner for a couple of years and find having a van useful for our lifestyle. I fancy upgrading to a newer or possibly brand new Combi type van but advertised prices seem stupidly high. Has anyone bought a van recently and actually been able to get some kind of discount? Is such a thing even possible now or has the constant of living crisis and the covid van tax ruined things?

I have sorted some new vans recently for work. My findings were that the advertised price was the price you pay. Useful information though is that quite a few vans are identical underneath just with slight differences with lights, badges etc. for example Renault vans are the same as Vauxhall. Peugeot the same as Nissan. So just find the cheapest van in the size that suits.

The Mercedes sprinter was our go to van for a long time, but there is a massive premium between them and the equivalent Renault/Vauxhall. I don’t think this premium is warranted anymore and the quality gap is closer than it used to be ten years ago.

Cheers, there are some sites which appear to offer quite big discounts on nissan primastars. They just aren’t very sexy, if a van can be sexy?

If your considering a new van, I was quoted long lead times on delivery (9 months plus) and in the end had to take a cancelled order and one that was in stock.
