I've looked for but can't find an official Burnley thread. Surely I'm not the only Burnley fan on PistonHeads? (cue abuse)

Can anybody start an official thread or do you need mod approval?

You're not alone - I'm the other Claret on PH. Must be more than the 2 of us?

Change the name from unofficial to official, and off you go.
Good luck in the prem.

And then there were three! Bit like buses, you wait ages for one to come along and then three turn up.

Nice to know I'm not alone 3059hp and Moz_BLY. After five days without a reply I was beginning to wonder.

Do either of you still manage to see any home games?

Not a Burnley fan, but live very close to Turf Moor, great little club, with Vincent Kompany a very good manager, amazing what he accomplished last season.

Unfortunately only been to one game, play off final 2008 ish i think.
I live very near Turf can hear the crowd every now and then throughout a game.

Lost interest in football soon as it is a case of who has the most money nowadays.
Non the less, Burnley very promising team all managers have helped with their progression.

Got a season ticket and been a regular for best part of 30 years (eek where have they gone?), so go to vast majority of home games plus some away games too. Live about 30 miles from TM at the other end of the M65, so pretty easy to get there. Will miss first game of the season against City due to clashing motorsport event (cars come first!).

Pleased to hear it. I live on the south coast these days but still have family in Burnley and try to arrange trips back to coincide with Burnley being at home.

Shame about the City game.

Just PM a Mod, such as Big Al and they will be able to make it "official".

Another claret here. I went last night (it's not far) and really enjoyed the game. A good result but a shaky second half capped by an excellent winner.

Big name players don’t make good top level managers

Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, and Kompany

I’ve seen them once this year at Luton where we won. I’m off to Arsenal next week, so let’s hope my run continues. In reality if we loose by less than 4 I’d be amazed.

Kompany is a puzzle, he was excellent last year, but the jump to the premier league seems to be completely beyond him.

SheffUtd fan here....

I think the jump full stop is massive. Particularly so if you cannot bounce straight back up and retain and add to a squad.

Burnley at least seem to be creative.

I think the problem for you guys is Kompany's stubbornness in terms of style of play. A bit more pragmatism probably wouldn't hurt, no matter how unattractive it might be.

I think it's already between the bottom 4 in terms of 3 to go down unfortunately.

The jump seems bigger than ever. After years of Dyche style pragmatism is was so nice to watch us last year, but now I’m thinking 0-0 against anybody would be a start.

It’s going to be a long season and I agree it looks like 3 from 4.
