...regardless of cost.

I know this is very subjective, but in my opinion there isn't anything 'modern' that I lust after - purely on the basis of looks (as opposed to performance/ handling/ rarity, etc.)

The M2 before they ruined that as well.

Although I think the new one will grow on me unlikely the genuinely awful designs.

The F87 M2 was a good looking thing and so was the F80 M3 although in big cases I never liked the Comp wheels.

The 6 series coupe was a handsome thing to my eyes too.

I'm not much of a BMW fan but I thought the pre-LCI G20 looked smart.

Then they facelifted it and made it worse.

I was going to say the 6 series too, but that's a 13 year old design.

If you mean new in the last 5 years, I've got nothing.

Im not sure there is a single wholly resolved design.

Maybe, pre-LCI F90 front; post LCI rear. Or the M2CS I suppose. And, the pre-LCI X3M looks fantastic front on.

The M6GC, above, is a car I loved. But, the droopy snout always annoyed me. Profile and rear are cracking, though.

<5 years. Has to be the F80 M3. The rear arches alone make the shape very squat and “tight”. Picture of the one i used to have below.

If we can stretch back to 10 years, the E92 M3. I rebought one last year after being away from one for best part of 6 years and still amazes me how coherent the design of it is.

I'm biased but I do like the shape of my F82 M4.

I also like the way the current Z4 and 8 series look as well.

Agree; the F80 is all about the rear arches. Looks fab in that colour too. I’d happily ‘settle’ for a Yas Marina blue M3 with white leather.
