Hi all; I’m away this week so a slightly shorter OP than usual. It should be a great spectacle to see these cars fly around Silverstone, but probably not much of a competition at the front.

McLaren should debut the next stage of its upgrades, that seem to be working well. Channel 4 is covering qualifying and race live.

Here’s to a great race.

Date(s): Friday 7 July to Sunday 9 July 2023.

UK Broadcast Timings (and track time)

All sessions are live on Sky F1. Qualifying and the race are shown live on Channel 4.

Well, you'd be a fool to put your money on anything other than a RB/Max win. Lets just hope something of interest happens further down the pack.

I’m travelling down on Thursday for the whole weekend, quite looking forward to it now. I haven’t been to watch f1 since I watched qualifying in 1998!

I’m expecting another verstappen/Redbull win, why would it be anything else. Sadly.

Chance of rain but can't see anything other than max pole max leading every lap max fastest lap.

I hope the macca upgrades do well here, a podium for him would be a dream here. Does seem a stretch though as he will need several other cars and drivers to have a very bad day for that to happen.

I want to see sunshine and showers all weekend, with Lando, Lewis and George on the podium.

And my in-laws to fk off early so I can watch the race in peace.

As long as he can avoid those pesky barriers.

Thanks as ever for the header - I like that new Pirelli tyre graphic, lots of info there.

Hope everyone that’s going to Silverstone has a good weekend. Remember that, even in July, you can get all four seasons in one day, and unless you have a paddock parking pass you’ll be doing a *lot* of walking!

Quite a few car upgrades coming here, although I think we all know which team will be still out at the front. Let’s at least wish for a close race behind.

After last weekend, I wonder if track limits, and/or the policing of track limits, will be the big story? Lots of fast corners with Tarmac runoff here, and lots of official observers paying attention - including a remote team of observers watching cameras! Whatever the officials decide to do, it has to be both consistent and timely.

Looking forward to it, though I accidentally booked a ticket to the Ashes on Sunday at Headingley, so I imagine I will be either watching it on NowTV on my phone or holding off and watching a replay in the evening whilst a bit sozzled,

After the gouge-fest that was their ticket sales last year, this is the first one we won't be attending in a while. Ironically the Mrs now informs me they're still trying to flog tickets!rolleyes

Very mixed emotions, as when I clocked it was coming up I felt a pang. But I refuse to be bent over that way. And TBF with the F1 side being the max snoozlfest it ain't the worst time to be missing out.

Although if anyone's selling a pair we might be tempted...

Thanks PiaP.

Liking the new tyre graphic.

The Deuce: if McLaren's updates step them on again, even just a touch, I don't think others would need a bad weekend for a Lando podium. They were simply faster than Aston and Merc at the last race, and it wouldn't take a significant step to get ahead of Leclerc.

I refuse to give any money to Silverstone on the same basis. The 'dynamic pricing' debacle was a complete insult to loyal supporters of the venue.

I bought a ticket on eBay for around half of its face value. Plenty still for sale there now.

Lots of race trucks on the M40 today. If only I could keep my car as clean!
I assume Alpha Tauri and Ferrari have the furthest to travel this weekend?

Amazingly most of the trucks will get washed and polished again once they arrive.

What do HaaS do for back to back races in Europe? Do they have some kind of storage / temp garage for repairs, etc?
