I'm surprised he's surprised at Ferrari's unsurprising tactics.

What did he expect?

I think, as a driver, the only way to remedy a situation like this is to be squeaky clean yourself. Consistently out-qualify your team mate, get off the line ahead of them and maintain a lead over them. It team strategy reverses the situation then it'll be obvious that's what the issue is. Otherwise, fail to do all of the above, complain publicly that your team are shafting you and prime your letterbox for the arrival of your P45.

I think most people consider that Charles is the "favorite" driver in the eyes of Ferrari at least. That means Carlos sometimes gets compromised. It was pretty strange when he clearly had more pace to leave him stuck behind.

With the alternative to the double stack being to stay out and pit a lap later (or more), was the call to box the best option at the time??

I have to think that it probably was, given everything that was known, but it did undeniably delay Sainz ....... not by as much as driving off of the track repeatably though
