Intended use is a once a week 100km mostly motorway cruise for a family with 2 children.
Radar cruise and a good sound system are a must, as is a comfortable ride and a bit of a sense of occasion.
Occasional country roads should also be enjoyable.
Budget up to 40 tsd.

All body styles are on the table.

Or if you want to roll first class the the S500 coupe would get the nod:

Now if you want timeless comfortable car with a sense of theatre & specialness then I'd go past all of the above & get myself a Granturismo Sport:

The Maserati is an absolute heartbreaker, it just looks and sounds so seductive. I've been binge watching videos on it and even with the original robotised manual gearbox it looks like a very attractive option.
The S Coupe is also gorgeous but maybe a bit too perfect?
E63 would be great as an estate...it just looks a bit boring when compared to the Maser.

ANy other ideas?

The sport is the pick as it incorporates some of the MC Stradale updates.

The S500 has character it's a bit muted a lot of people add a H pipe with K&N replacement filter to add some theatre.

Other options.

Aston Martin Rapide - no idea about radar cruise but otherwise it fits the bill.

The S Coupe or even Cabrio, perhaps an AMG variation.
