Yes. shouldn't be too much of a problem. You might even be able to pick up a old knackered chassis from one of the big circuits that uses hire karts that's been cracked or bent a bit.

You won't win anything, but you will have a kart.

You're a long way from Guildford otherwise I'd happily sell you a spare TKM rolling chassis (everything but the engine) for not a lot. Picking up a decent engine is more tricky as people like to keep there old ones as spares. They're out there though, best to grub around at your local kart track and ask who's got what for sale. It's definitely do-able for your budget.

What sort of Engine, Lawnmower, Motorbike?

There should be plenty of old Bikes around that fit the bill, might do better buying a complete bike, removing the engine and selling the remaining parts on Ebay, although more hassle you could end up with a free engine!

This, whilst probably a bit large is cheap enough;

I would try and get a TKM complete with engine... that way you could enter races too and that is what is actually fun

I'm selling a TKM kart. You're quite a way from me though and my kart has an engine, so would want about £250.

Even for a go kart I think Slinky would find that underpowered, I mean where's the nitrous bottle

This might cost more than £150, but should be fast enough to be competetive;
