Not sure what car I should look for - Budget upto 12k

I just got rid of my 15plate peugeot 308 after it had a ton of issues so now looking for something reliable without having to worry it will go kaput
In terms of what I'm looking for it should be reliable, decent/good MPG and ULEZ compliant. The car needs to have 5 doors, not a really tiny hatch since will be used by the family and should have parking sensors. Ideally would like to spend 6-7k but can stretch up to 12k or slightly above for like a decent SUV type car. Any help with this conundrum would be appreciated
