Wiring hazard stalk
Discussion

Can someone confirm that the green and yellow wire are the only ones that need to be connected to the hazard switch?
The confusion is that there are also 2 very thin red and blue wires coming out....
Other question is where the wire goes to into the steering column? Is it on the steering boss where there are 4 little white connectors on a green connector plate?
Hello,
There are four wires in the cable for the Hazard light switch but only two wires are used, the yellow and green wires in your case. The four connectors you refer to on the steering boss are for the Wipers, Wash/Wipe, Horn and Dip/Main Beam.
As you're sat in the drivers seat, looking at the steering boss/column and the four little connectors, the connector furthest away from you (closest to the dashboard) is Dip/Main beam, then Horn, then Wash/Wipe and finally Wipe which is the closest connector to you.
The cable that connects to the Hazard light switch, connects directly to the Indicator Cancellation Sensor PCB. As you lay upside down in the drivers side footwell, look up at the steering column and you'll notice a disc (with a small section removed) attached to the steering column, this disc interrupts an optical sensor on the Indicator Cancellation Sensor PCB. It is this PCB that the Hazard light switch connects to.
The attached wiring diagram may help but let me know if you're stuck and I'll take some pictures for you.
Hopefully this is helpful,
Best regards
Tony.

Tony knows a lot more than I
BUT
As I was under the steering column recently, I found this and hope it helps
Hazard Warning Switch hangiging off....

Ends of wires at the PCB end....

PCB on top of Column....

2 pics of with and without uninteresting plug....

You might find it easier to do the fiddling with the Driver's seat removed....
