981 Spyder to 991?
Discussion
Thinking of getting rid of my 981 Spyder (and daily X3M comp) and going down the manual 991.1S route. Any real world experiences of manual 991.1 welcome - interesting enough to keep feeling special? I’ve had a 997.2 previously and found the 981 Spyder more consistently special so am wondering if 991 will feel interesting enough. Would also be interested in manual 991.2 except haven’t seen any manual ones for sale with sunroof. Would only want manual and with sunroof.
I've been through something very close to you. I recently sold a manual 997.2 Carrera S which I had for almost 10 years and was a lovely car. But my 981 Spyder which I bought last summer is really great as a road car - really nice engine and gearbox, good sound, lots of space (for a two seater). Just got a 991.2 GT3 manual a month ago, which clearly as a driver's car is 'better' than any of them (esp the engine), but this weekend I have to do a bit of driving and if the weather is nice, I will chose the Spyder over the GT3. I have had many cars over the years, and the Spyder will probably stay with me much longer than I thought, just because it has the right combination of enjoyment, practicality and driver involvement.

Why do you want a 9911 C2S manual instead of a 981 Spyder?
I don't think a 991.1 C2S would be as special. Personally a 997.2 would be more special than a 991.1.
What do you want it for?
As a nice do it all combination of 981 and X3M… I’ve got other winter things (defender) and summer things (classic convertibles etc)…I don't think a 991.1 C2S would be as special. Personally a 997.2 would be more special than a 991.1.

I would also go 991.2 over the 991.1.
Have you considered a 991.2T some manuals with sunroof do come up for sale
Bizarrely 991.2 Ts with sunroofs are not that popular because it adds weight and is against the T 'ethos' for want of a better explanation.Have you considered a 991.2T some manuals with sunroof do come up for sale
991.2 T is a decent package overall but like the 991.1 S the gearbox action is not the best with vagueness in the upper ratios in particular.
T will hold its value better than the 991.1 Carrera S mainly because it is the last of the narrow bodied limited run Carreras.
