I had camping booked with Camping F1 for the Belgium GP. Yesterday (26th June) I got an email saying they have ceased trading, the camping is off and I won't get any money back. They say my race tickets are still valid. They referred me on to another camping site, but I would have to start/pay again.

Did anyone else get the same mail? It appears legit, given their phones and FB site are down, although I note the website is still up, without any news of this.
Do you have any ideas on any way of getting money back (e.g. credit card company?)
Do you have any good alternatives for camping at Spa?

I also note they had sold out for the British GP. Does this mean that a bunch of people would have had the same email for that too, or did they somehow honour that one?

Sorry if this is giving bad news to anyone, but if you are affected then clearly you would want to know.

Sorry to hear this - bad luck.

I camped at Camping Eau Rouge for the Grand Prix last year - a great site, and would thoroughly recommend it, we were camping right on the banks of the river that the famous corner is named after, which was nice. Take a bike and it is an easy cycle to the circuit.

Credit Card company and/or Travel Insurance are your best bets.

Might be worth doing a bit of digging. Were they agents or were they physically providing the camping sites? Presumably there's a campsite owner in Belgium (and Silverstone) that's now got a bunch of vacant sites that they need to sell!

Sorry to hear this!

Went to Spa in 2017 and stayed at "Elephant Camping" - https://francorchamps-camping.com/camp.html

It's about a 20 min walk from the circuit - we took bikes and locked them up outside the track. Decent facilities (showers, toilets etc) from memory. Did get a bit crowded - seemed very popular with Germans - but think that was the case for most campsites.

Good luck, really hope you get sorted
