How long should they last?
The rear on mine I have been recommended to change after 2 years and 30,000 miles.
Is that about right?
95% of my driving is a 25 mile each way commute with 10 roundabouts on duel carraidgways so 70-20 mph each time and 5% fast A road driving.

It is completely impossible to say.

It isn't necessarily the amount of miles or the type of driving.

For instance, my job takes me out of the country every 4 weeks for 2 weeks, so every time I get back there is an amount of surface rust on the discs, rust is harder than the metal (IIRC) so that gets stuck in the pads when they free off & I rarely get more than 2 years to a set of discs in any of the cars I have owned in this time.

It depends. Lack of regular use due to lock-down, and salting up by winter-gritting caused mine to become pitted, and causing a vibration. They passed the MOT on performance (just advisories). I replaced the fronts at 46k because they were getting low, and to hopefully cure the vibration. The rears were still pitted, and some vibration was still there, so they, too, were replaced at 47k miles, although they had life left. My conclusion was to avoid salt, ensure the brakes have some use, eg. descents. With regards heavier wear on the rears, some traction/stability control may becoming into action there.
