Touching but bittersweet story from my neck of the woods:

Good on you Merc!

Well done Mercedes.
Mercedes and Lewis have a track record on this kind of gesture too.
A few years back, a young lady (known to me via the Lotus 7 Club) was diagnosed with terminal cancer and top of her 'bucket' list, was a wish to meet Lewis Hamilton.
At the time I had a good friend working at McLaren and who had known Lewis during his time with the team. Long story short, my friend passed the information to Matt Bishop (McLaren PR chief) who got in touch with his counterpart at MB, Bradley Lord, who, in turn, spoke with Lewis. Within a week, Lewis made a special trip back to the UK where he had a lengthy meeting with the lady and then MB gave her a tour of the factory, lunch with the team and then she watched Lewis in the sim.
And for the cynics that think drivers and teams will do anything for a bit of good PR, no press were invited or involved and other than private photos for the lady, there was no other official record of the gesture.
