Wait a year?
They're offering to replace it FOC, get it booked in and done asap before they change their minds... or go bust and disappear.
Thanks but distance to main dealer an issue along with time if not urgent - I am loathe to be putting unecessary miles on the car.

Looking at your profile I assume it is the 570S?
As somebody else suggested get it transported to McLaren to be done.
Thanks - Yes, main dealer has now fed back and says not an issue (surprised !) so I will save myself £500 and get it done next year with the main service. As somebody else suggested get it transported to McLaren to be done.
A fool and his money....

A fool and his money buys a very fast car & doesn't look after it...

You may have the urge to unnecessarily spunk money down the drain....

2. I actually have the urge to fix a small problem before it becomes a much bigger & potentially unsafe problem actually.
Just last week both of our cars went in & had advisories & I already have the parts & will fix them ASAP, in fact on both I m doing both sides of the advisory, not just the one that was picked up.

Cars are for driving, surely then all miles accrued are necessary ?It's an odd one though. What does a split bush really mean ? Without actually seeing it, impossible to say.
Equally, unless that 2000 miles has been driving over thousands of speed bumps flat out, surely it's horrendous such a young car should have any such issues at all ?

Car transporter £500-£600
Drive up and wait (but they have another part to fix) so a very long day, lose a days pay, £50 fuel and 200 miles on car
Drive up and courtesy car - lose a days pay, £100 fuel and 200 miles on car
As not necessary leave until next service
But yes in your (vastly different) circumstances that is certainly a sensible way forward.

As for the issue, I dont know if the part is mclaren or off the shelf - low volume cars typically have more issues than say a Toyota which is tested to destruction before it goes to market.
Just to add the state of roads / potholes is HORRENDOUS !

You got an advisory & don't want to/can't be bothered to get it fixed.
I got an advisory & am going overboard to make sure the problem isn't getting worse.
Your costs may be up to 1% of the car value, mine is just about 1% of the car value.
Oh yes, I see it now, I am going all over the top to sort it out so that it can't get worse/dangerous (let's face it, for it to be failing already on a car of that value would REALLY want me to get it sorted ASAP) & you are going full-on "head in the sand" on it.

Sorry if you cant see the differences in our situations - I have tried to spell it out but to no avail. You got an advisory & don't want to/can't be bothered to get it fixed.

No matter, I hope your work on the car goes well
