good place to get specs (bristol area)

I have been going to spec savers for many years but they have got S**t in the past few ( having to take glasses back many times as they are coming apart ashortly after getting them etc)... So I don't want to take my custom back to them. Are their any other good opticians that are based in the bristol area.

Or companys that people recommened

i can tell you who not to go to. without breaching the naming and shaming policy, the first part of their name means "sight", and the second part is to do with a "fast passenger train".

had a pair of glasses off them once (the first and last) that were so bad they induced a migrane in 45 minutes. when i took them back they discovered that they had missed a certain check on my eyes and made the glasses incorrectly. they redid the lenses with cheap lenses that were twice the width to keep the cost down despite me paying full price for thin lenses in the first place.

friends have had equally shoddy work.

Vision Express or Optical Express?! Vision Express have closed down. I have used Optical Express twice with no problems. Both were/are in Broadmead, Optical Express are opposite BHS. Vision Express were next to the HSBC bank.

I've used David Clulow (up in the Mall now if you can bear it) for about 15 years and they've been great. They made a cock-up once similar to the one above and they sorted it very well and very quickly. Going again soon to get my contacts made up.

I was looking at the place inside Asda in Longwell green. Looks good, but you hear so many good/bad things about places I just wanted to get other peoples view on good places to go
