E90 CV joint replacement cost

Anyone had this done got an idea? Think one of them is leaking and noisy. Not really sure of a rough cost and can’t find much online…. Assume it’s worth getting both front ones done at same time?

Your car is rear wheel drive. Unless it’s a very rare European or US/Canadian xi model.

I know it’s rear wheel drive but only since seeing your post have I read up and realised the CV is only on the drive axle. So I’m not sure what is making the tapping / squeaking noise at the front when turning now.

Wheel bearing or brakes would be my best guess from what you say.

When exactly does it happen?

What does it sound like?

It happens when turning mostly (only?) when turning the steering wheel left primarily at slow speeds. It sounds like a squeaky fan noise and sounds like it comes from somewhere to the left of the drivers position not sure if it’s even audible from the outside of the car. Doesn’t seem to affect the steering and the car drives perfectly but is on 105k so expecting some wear and tear parts… just have no idea what it is.

Sounds likely to be a wheel bearing.

Most competent garages should be able to easily diagnose it effectively.
