Re-register battery after disconnecting?
Discussion
So…
Long story short, my radiator fan relay had stuck on and discharged the battery on my 2015 Skoda Octavia Scout
(2ltr TDi with DSG ‘box if that makes any difference)
In the process of fixing I had disconnected the battery to stop the thing from keeping the entire neighbourhood awake! (that fan on full blast sounds like an A380 on take-off 😂)
Now do I need to re-register the battery or will it keep the current battery details stored?
I understand that you need to “register” new batteries on vehicles with stop-start, but I’ve just refitted the same one.
I’ve read on some BMW forums that it’s not necessary, but can’t find anything about the Skoda..
Does it keep the battery details stored in memory?
Thanks!
