BMW E61 tyre advice

I've just purchased another (my second ) as I really loved and missed the torque E61 535D Touring, decent ones are rarer than hens teeth and Ive been searching for around 3 months and finally got a decent one ( they sell within hours if they are decent condition / price) wish I'd kept my old 06 plate black minter, Anyway the car has budget tyres on it at present, and I usually go for MPS4's when I had my M cars / 340.. however I'm not sure I want to spend all that money as I'm not going to be doing much hooning now I'm an old git, Can anyone recommend anything possibly a level or two below the Pilot sports in terms of cost that aint gonna kill me if I want a bit of sensible fun, The car isn't mapped so its running stock BHP / Torque I believe.

Just because you're not hooning it doesn't mean you don't need to fit the best tyres you can afford

Michelin PS4s/PS5s
They'd be up there for me; with the likes of the Falken FK520s, Vredestein Ultrac Vorti's and Uniroyal RainSport 5s following close by
Check the likes of Camskill, Tyreleader and MyTyres for prices; Camskill are my usual go-to, obviously you need to get them fitted locally...
However, MyTyres offered the best prices for the Goodyear Assym6s I'm running on my F31; £250 cheaper than the PS5s
I highly rate them too; superb tyres in the west & dry and fantastic grip throughout

Another vote for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6.
They come into their own in the wet, better steering feel than Michelin and good in the dry too. Don't have as much mileage as Michelin but unless you're doing a lot of miles I don't think it matters. Many people run their tyres based on tread alone and end up with very old hard, cracked rubber.

Over the past 10 years, I've had Goodyear and Michelin on the car (535d), at the moment PS4.
It doesn't get driven at much as the others (8k pa), has an eco tune (330bhp) which fills in the holes in original mapping and xHP stage 2 gearbox flash, which removes the dim-wittedness and smoothes the changes, gear indicator on dash. It's not as seamless as the 8 speed, but a vast improvement on BMW's gearbox mapping.
