Hello all

can anyone who has actually owned this car confirm if its the "money pit" every youtube review seems to make you think

looking for a second daily estate or SUV around 6/7k and these pop up often and to have a nice V8 would be nice.

have a 640d as main car thats why im swayed towards the SUV more.

this is purely for trips / pets / don't care about car

I did 15k miles in 17 months in mine and I absolutely loved it. Mine was leaking oil with only just over 30k miles on it so look out for that. The panoramic roof can play up(mine didn't though).

They are properly thirsty as well, the shape/4wd/weight definitely take their toll on the mpg I reckon, however they do make a wonderful noise though.

I had a 4.8is for just under 4 years - got it when it was 18 months old. One of the most comfortable cars I have ever owned.

Nothing went wrong- but maintenance costs are fairly high as you would expect for tyres/discs/pads etc.

Averaged 17mpg and low 20s on a longer run.

Great car overall - but fully expect to spend £2k a year on maintenance

Old, thirsty and high tax seems plenty enough reasons for the good value.

For my money, if you are doing low mileages, a big petrol engine stands a decent chance of being easier to run than the same car with a more complex diesel lump.

mileage will be very low per year so definitely looking towards a big engined petrol SUV!!

This. I had for 2 years and 40K from new. Fault free. Very thirsty as above. And I would dispute the comfortable. Great to drive but rear passengers hated the ride.
