Evening all,

Im about to get my Chimaera alloys refurbished. Theres nothing much wrong with them but wanted to get diamond cut faces on the rims like my old S3. However, as the wheels are going to be fully stripped etc theres an opportunity to change the colour - which means there is also an opportunity to get it horribly wrong, so, has anyone changed the colour on their wheels and any pictures of how it looks? The car is Formula (?) red, non metallic and I wasn't looking for anything drastic. Maybe anthracite or one of those fancy "Shadow Chrome" type finishes. Any thoughts or info greatly appreciated, even if its only to keep them standard colour.

Thanks all

Andy

Have to be the 5.0 wheels if he’s diamond cutting the faces..

Just diamond cut the faces and leave the rest silver, red cars are incredibly sensitive to looking tacky if they look too non oem imo.

I'm sure there must be some different colour combinations in there. I've never been a fan of diamond cut refurbs as when you look at the terms of most places that will do it they only guarantee for 12 months because of lacquer peel.

Morning All

Thanks for the responses - to clarify a little bit , these are the wheels I have...

Im just looking to have the outer rim diamond cut but its a good point regarding lacquer peel / corrosion etc.

I did have a trawl through that thread regarding aftermarket wheels but theres a lot of black or chrome on there and im not a fan of black wheels on a red car - hence I thought an anthracite may work but I need to get an idea of what it looks like. Its a good point as well about Red cars being sensitive to major colour changes as well - thanks for the input - much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Andy

I put these on an early 4.0, not sure they’re still around?
