Hi, thanks for looking. Both of my rear tyres needed replacing. The rear driver side kept deflating over the 6 months I have owned it, so I thought I would change both rear tyres. Fast forward a week on with the new tyres and the rear driver side has deflated quite a lot. Of course I will be taking it back to where I got them done for a check, but any reason why that pattern of a deflating tyre would continue? Will the tyre need to be sealed for example?

Probably corrosion on the rim, where the tyre should seal. Fitter should clean it off snd apply sealer, but they often don’t bother.

Just had daughter’s Honda do it for the second time, and car isn’t very old. Oddly the pressure loss was quite erratic - could be fine for a couple of weeks then suddenly was quite low.

Or a buckle in the rim from a pothole. Check the inside from underneath. Possibly a crack. Have you rode up a kerb or hit a big hole recently?

Inflate the tyres to correct pressure and cover in soapy water, should bubble where its leaking (only small bubbles mind, you have to inspect quite thoroughly)

I had exactly this. I think it only leaked when parked with the leaking spot at the 6 o'clock position.

Had it with chromed alloys on my Mustang. Water gets behind the rim and seeps down and corrodes and pits the rim where the tyre seals.

I had to get the tyres off and file the pits flat and generally clean it up. They're just about airtight now.
