Does any one else on this site have the b*lls , cajones , guts ,to say , without fear of the journalistic Mafia ( ..........and the multiculturalists) GET REAL

Britain has become so overtly politcally correct , no one is allowed to have pride in the origins of the country we all live in .

.... unless you are Muslim , and therefore allowed to celebrate big Eid , little Eid , and Ramadan .

........or Hindu , and celebrate Diwali ( Apologies if I have that wrong)
....or Irish , and celebrate Paddy's Day,

St.Georges Day ( 23 April for those who have forgotten) has now been to all intents banned .

I no longer wish to enter in to any debates on this site , as any person who expresses a non "PC" point of view , is lambasted by the usual suspects and accused of racism .

Having worked for many years in the Middle East , particularly Saudi Arabia , it is time for the UK to adopt that countries attitude to migrant workers , and immigrants . To hell with "PC" and multiculturism ,it is our country LIVE BY OUR RULES

Dunno about you, but I have my St georges Flag out on St Georges day. (Actually its a white naval ensign, but you get the point)... Its up to you if you want to celebrate it. We do!

Edited to say, some councils do not like the symbols of St georges day up, in certain places, which I feel is wrong...)

Actually .... Kinky Junior made a St. Georges flag at school a few months ago (probably St. Georges day).

Anyway - I found it today (by chance) and stuck it up on the window for all to see, who pass on the A30.

And that's from an Irishman too!

K

P.S. - I'll probably be arrested for inciting racial hatred.

As a onetime sailor some years ago, I've ALWAYS felt very peeved at the fact that I could not (I was told) fly the Union Jack on a yacht. You MUST it seems fly the "Red Duster" otherwise known as "the Red Ensign" merchant Navy Flag.

This reduces our Union Flag to a quarter of the size. So whilst the Germans, French, Spanish, Italians, Dutch.............Irish!!!! Can fly LARGE national flags proudly from their boats all over the Med!

.....we, the british,.......have to make do with......a quarter sized hankerchief which makes our flag smaller than the "courtesy" flag being flown for the host nation!

GRRRrrrr!!!!

The accepted rule is that only the "Royal Navy" can fly the ..."Union Jack!"........MMmmmmh!

Well......Only the Royal Navy can fly the "White Ensign" or "Battle flag" i.e. a Union flag surrounded by a white border, (Union Jack?)......... (define...union jack)

Has there somewhere been a "foul up in our history? Has some: "Jobsworth" stepped in somewere along the line? Has the Union Jack become confused with: The Union Flag?

I'd love to know for sure. In any case, is it NOT time for our yachtsmen and women to be able to fly our nations flag like everyone else?

I got my White Ensign from my bro, who was in the RN. Exactly what punishment would you get for flying a union flag from your vessel?

the way i see it is like this (excuse me as the redbull hasnt been doing its usual thing of keeping my brain awake).....

i dont care about 'being p.c' as its just a pathetic phrase like 'power knapp' or 'biffidus digestivum'....its a made up set of bollox invented by a few farties in the 80's to try and make themselves look holier than thou (come to think of it,i dont remember much about p.c until after around 1983).....i'd rather say what i think,be upfront and feck the consequences.

like no doubt a few others on here i was bought up in the 70's in the suburbs (uxbridge to be exact),went to nursery, primary (st andrews, uxbridge road) and secondary school (the greenway - now uxbridge well-high) with mixed race and religiously diffrent pupils and i didnt care, afaik they were just kids like me.

also like me i bet when all of you were kids your mates were your mates, you stood by each other through thick and thin and you didnt care about what colour/religion/origins that your mates were.....they were simply 'mates'

what makes these bloody doo-gooders think they are so superior, these are the c**ts who will cause a civil war to irrupt in this country if they dont pull their noses out and simply shut the up.

p.c is something that should have been dropped a friggin long time ago,its outdated and serves no purpose but to keep placing barriers between cultures who would like to simply get on with their lives.

people who spout p.c crap should be made to go out,buy a crusifix and nail themselves to it.
(i'll offer to bang the last nail in if thats any help)

Y'know cortinaman I think you may be right, back in the 50's when I was at school we had one! coloured lad in our class (Mmmh! Afro - Carribean I think) He was a great lad! played with us all the time I remember.....but?.......somehow he just didn't do the same things as us out of school (we were all railway freaks and travelled the nation in search of engines - OK! I know! )Anoracks!

The more I think of it, he was "a mate" at school, but somehow didn't join our gang roving the railways nationwide like we did.

I often wondered what became of him because we had then and still do very few "foriegn faces" here. Probably something to do with the lack of jobs from the '80's onwards!!! Even now it is is rare to see a "foriegn" face in our town, a reflection of the "employment" statistics here I suppose. There isn't any jobs for the "W.A.S.P's" like me. No chance then for anyone else then!

And when you were in the middle east there weren't enclaves of migrant working westerners moaning about the "bloody arabs", refusing to learn the lingo, paying minimum lip service to any cultural or social practices & socialising & doing business with only other westerners if possible?

If so it was a different Middle East to the one I have spent years in.

Now it happens that I agree with most of what you are saying but I have no problem letting others celebrate their holy days/festivals but not at the expense of our own ones.

Last night on Radio 4 there was a program celebrating the regionalk diversity of britain. It was part of the BBC "voices" project where they do loads of interviews with people from different backgrounds and regions... welsh miners and scottish farmers and people who went to Eton... to record their dialect and their accents... It was very interesting. It was presented by a 2nd generation pakistani immigrant who was proud of what the program showed. It was a great program and celebrated our duvers culture.

I don't think it is the case that if you are proud of britain you get shot down by PC people... it is the case that if you start trying to stop people pursue their religion or try to "make" them english then it happens. Or if you are just outright racist (as the occaisonal post on PH is).

Oh jolly good. Yet another thinly disguised excuse for starting rants about other cultures/religions and how "they" don't integrate and all that other baloney that so often gets trotted out on here. Maybe the Pie & Piston should be renamed the Rant & Bluster?

But if we weren't infected with PC and the morbid fear of 'upsetting' anyone, we wouldn't need to rant and bluster, we could just get on with sensible normal things. Stifle expression and discussion too much for too long and you get mucho unhappiness, riot, revolution...

I don't think anyone could say that debate about other cultures is stifled on P&P.

It just gets rather tiresome reading the same old shit over and over again.

Yep. It probably happens more here because it's about the only place you can say what you think apart from privately.

I remember the days of 'Alf Garnet','Love thy Nieghbour' ,golly wogs, baabaa black sheep, white honky,,,,noone really gave a toss and used to laugh.

I put the car radio on the other day to a debate about the rights and wrongs of calling someone Taffy?,i turned the radio over straight away as i cant be bothered with all the pc crap no more and ime sick of it, do you know as a taxi driver if some one gets in and asks for a destination and i dont understand them ime frightened to say so cos it might be seen as being racist, and there are times where the actual pc conatations frustrate me more than the problem of not understanding the person i really feel like saying 'please try to speak english because i dont understand you'.

I guess there are those that would say ime being a racist with the above statement ,but they could not be any further from the truth.

It's that we can't celebrate aspects of English culture and tradition for fear of offending minorities that winds me up. Honestly, do Secular communities really get wound up by Christmas? It's the fact that these unintelligent politians and council members actually have positions of responsibility that scares me.

If you live in a foreign country then I personally think there's no real excuse for some level of integration. Except of course, for xenophobia. Especially in Britian. I mean, it's not as if our country is overtly incompatible with foreign tastes even. We're one of the most eclectic countries in the entire world. If not the most eclectic.

It's just difficult as an Englishman to see what was once a great nation get gradually eroded away by a mish-mash of different individuals coming here and cherry-picking all the aspects of our society that they like (or suits them) and rejecting the rest.
