Starring Natasha Lyonne from Russian Doll
Charlie Cale can tell when anyone tells a lie which comes in handy when unmasking killers and bad guys.
Very impressed with the opening episode when she faces off against Casino boss Adrien Brody. Hoping the other 8 episodes can match the strong opener.

She’s like a young female Columbo - mannerisms and even delivery.

I’m 3 in and will watch the lot.

It is ok but the pre story is nearly half the programme - odd layout.

First 3 episodes are very watchable. I’m currently on #5 and am struggling to keep interested.

Most enjoyable, it's an easy watch & not too taxing on the brain. Watched it a couple of months ago as I'm a sucker for Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll, Orange Is the New Black).

Just finished season one. Pure entertainment in my view.

Definitely hints of Columbo. We like it, easy watching, goofy fun. Almost lighter hearted Columbo crossed with Fargo vibe.

'managed to view 8 of them, but interest was dwindling after the fifth one.

I think that the first episode was best.

I agree with the Columbo vibe, and found that off-putting.

By the few posts in here this sounds similar to 'Lie to Me' from about 10 years ago with Tim Roth? Sounds like it may be worth a watch as L2M was a very good show.

Watched the first 2, but instead of her ability to spot a lie being the focus, she just seems to be the most amazing detective ever!

It's like she was there when it happened and as mentioned, most of the episode is focused on the big build up to the crime and she arrives half an hour in.

We'll maybe try 1 or 2 more, but it's not quite hitting the spot for us just yet.

Lie to me had some substance behind it and was semi serious, I really liked it. This is much more lightweight in comparison.

That sums it up perfectly. Doesn't take itself too seriously, and is equally easy and entertaining to watch. We enjoyed it, there was only 1 episode we found a little weaker/duller than all the others in the entirety of season 1. That's a pretty good hit rate.

Looking forward to it. Might even rewatch the previous with other family members.

Really enjoyed the retro format.

Also like her in Russian Doll.
