Currently away on the Isle of Mull and had a puncture a few days ago, took 3 days for a new tyre to arrive but when it turned up it was a Goodyear instead of the Bridgestones fitted to the other three wheels, spoke to a BMW tech and he said ok to drive off the island but the following 500miles journey might throw up stability issues/lights.

Any issues I will have to look out for? tyre will be changed as soon as possible, an expensive holiday!!!

The puncture could not be repaired, as typically it was on the shoulder of the tyre.

Are the sizes on the rear different to the front?

I'd have thought so - as standard the M340d comes with a staggered set-up in the UK and I don't think there's an option to specify an all-square set-up from the factory.

Like the OP I prefer to have the same make and model of tyre all round but in the circumstances I don't think having one Goodyear in the short-term should cause a problem providing it's the correct size, speed and load rating. I'd actually prefer four Goodyears to four Bridgestones but that really would make it an expensive holiday!

I would think the car will be absolutely fine.
