223,000 miles but full BMW service history and in really good condition inside and out.

Private sale. WBAC and Autotrader valuation was £1,500. I managed to achieve £3,850. Advert had only been up for 5 days (£70, well-spent).

So the moral of this story is - try and sell your cars privately (even if it can be a bit of a pain in the arse).

Selling privately is indeed a pain in the arse! The last two weeks trying to sell my other half’s 125i cab have done me head in but it’s been sold to a chap who seems like a decent human being.

How many low ball offers / swap offer did you have to fend off?

Absolutely!

For me a few months is about the norm to sell a car; more so the older BMWs etc

Think the likes of WBAC/Motorway etc are great for the more modern cars that are worth more too etc...

You'll always get tyre kickers and folks that can't afford the car, but will make stupid offers any way etc
