First car help - van like mpv

Son looking for first car
Wants to be able to do some camping (potentially a little conversion)/stash climbing gear in the back. Easily removalable back seats preferred.
Performance/looks not important.
Can’t be a van due to Sheffield council charges.
Budget up to £7k.
Thinking about eg Berlingo or poss Mazda 5 [not many about)
Any other recommendations?

Ford Tourneo of some sort?
Im interested in the new Ford Tourneo Courier coming out at the end of this year, out of your sons budget, but maybe a second hand outgoing version?

Toyota Estima? They will all be Japanese imports, but very reliable, decently sized and a bit different from the norm.
You can even get a V6 version within budget

Having said that, if this is a first car, it probably isn't a great idea to get a Japanese import with a V6. I would rather look at Citroen Berlingo/Peugeot Rifter which I believe are basically the same car. There is also Vauxhall version but I forgot the name. I would expect that they are cheaper to insure.
