BTCC Snetterton thread!

Let's try and spark a bit more life into the BTCC chat by giving this race its own thread, as we've done in previous years.

Plenty to look forward to at my "local" race (born and raised in Norfolk) with the top of the championship so tight.

Maybe RowBo might finally have a change of luck??

I just hope they do a piece in the warmup explaining the track limit regulations. I've read so much absolute bks online from people who have absolutely no clue what the rules are now or what they were before but insist that they do.

Does Snetterton also have track limit sensors? If it does, don't drive over them and you'll be safe.

The sensors are in the correct place for the rules BTCC drove under last season not this season. They are racing under rules that are proposed to be brought in for later this season for other series.

You can be breaking the new track limits and be nowhere near the sensors.

I think the last 2 posts clearly explain the lack of communication to the wider audience on track limits this year. (no offence EDLT)

I agree, it just isn`t clear enough for those who don`t follow the rules closely.

I wonder when they`ll introduce the live car position number in the windscreen like they`ve started doing is Aussie Supercars. Updates everytime they cross the line, makes it WAY easier for a spectator to see who is where.

I like Snetterton, should be a good weekend. Don't really car who wins so long as we have some good racing and keep the championship close.

And the number could change colour when the hybrid power is being deployed.

Think it does now.

Jonathan (Palmer) was one of the original proponents of regulating track limits - although I thought to protect MSV’s manicured grass verges.

A few years ago I was watching one of the BTCC support races at Snetterton with JP, just above the helipads, and he was getting frustrated with one particular driver who kept exceeding the limits at Hamilton/Oggies and throwing up dust…….awkwardly, the driver was Will (Palmer)

That was an interesting overtake by Hill, will he get away with it

Or does this now mean they can all overtake off the track

Good race by Hill, I agree he was off the track but i'm not sure he will get a penalty for it.

Does anyone else feel this might be Turkingtons last year ?

He was very quick to say Turkington pulled over on him, which he didn’t from the angle on TV, when interviewed Turkington didn’t mention it so it must be going to the stewards

Hill quite clearly took to the grass, Turkington certainly didn’t put him there.

Nothing wrong with that...... two wheels were still on the track!!! If anything it's a disadvantage as the grip is less!!

So they should all do it then, going for non existent gaps will make it entertaining
