Hi guys,

Is there any way to remotely confirm a car has adaptive suspension other than a vin check?

Looking to buy one long distance and want to be 100% it has this option.

I’ve read that if sport setting has transmission and chassis options it’s fitted. So would be good hear if someone with stock suspension m140 doesn’t have that in the menu.

Non adaptive suspension models still show drivetrain and chassis in iDrive. My advice would be to ask for a photo under the bonnet, the top mounts would have sensors on top from memory. If you are going to see the car, you would be able to tell by driving it and changing the modes also.

Having driven both I always felt that replacing the whole lot with Bilsteins is a better bet. Adaptives are not a magic wand that really improves anything imo

Depends on what your intended use case is. If you are intending to track the car or really hustle on the road then yeah sure.

But if you just to be able to firm it up a bit or slacken it off then it does work.

Sure it isn't an amazing difference and the stock setup is poor, but it is noticeable.
