New Tyres for Accord CL7

Recently I inherited a 2004 Honda Accord CL7 in pretty good condition from my grandfather. I'm keen to tidy it up a bit, maybe improve some aspects without drastically changing the look.

The big problem seems to be with handling, which is no surprise given the tyres fitted - 235/60(!?)/R16

I'm not super knowledgable about tyres but I figure something lower profile would help? Thing feels so bouncy and unresponsive. What should I go for?

'Go for' a tyre size listed as suitable for your car and its 16" wheels, the options will be listed in the handbook and possibly on a sticker on the B post. 235/60R16 doesn't sound right to me, my listings show that the OE was 205/55R16 ...

" bouncy and unresponsive " could also have something to do with the suspension set-up.

Get some firm shocks and springs, and replace the anti roll bar and drop links too.

Check that the tyre size is correct for the wheels on that car as the suspension is a full system and that includes tyres size/sidewall depth/tyre pressures etc.

Start with the obvious and get the tyres/pressures right, then see what you think.

That tyre size combo doesn’t sound right to me on a car that age. What is written in the manual / door? Make sure the rims and tyre sizes match standard specs written in the manual.

At that age, I’d worry about bushings and shocks too. I used to own a Honda with double wishbone suspension, it ate bushings like no ones business. It was also very sensitive to tyre
pressures.
