Going to look at a car at the weekend. Would these have come with the front section of the cage from the factory?
thanks

No they wouldn't, it was an option to purchase after. Only the 996 cars came with the front cages I believe.

Believe it was dealer supplied if you asked - sort of like tequipment parts are now? Wasn't cheap though and is difficult to find now.

Thanks,
Rear section in place looks like a front section can be bolted in but sounds like previous owners either kept, sold or have the parts in the back of their garage

I bought a front section for a 996.1 GT3 Clubsport from FVD Brombacher ...

These came with the front section though many didn't fit them and dealers sold them on, many 996.2GT3 RS had the front cage fitted (white was an option) ... but I'm not sure if most 997.1 GT3RS' had a front section ... it ceased to be legal in some countries due to the risk of head damage from an accident without a crash helmet being used ...

It's worth checking, but I would imagine that the 996 front cage should fit the 997.1 .... ?? FVD Brombacher will know !

It was a clubsport option, along with electrical cut outs but it was in addition to the usual CS bits like rear cage, nomex seats, extinguisher and harness. My factory fitted cage has tabs to marry the front section to. Great option for track only, but I never got one as it's not the kind of thing you want to hit with an unprotected head when popping to the shops redface

Indeed, the amount of muppets I see driving around the road with full cage and no helmet surprises me.
