997 "gen 1.5" engine?

Afternoon,

Looking at a 997 911 C2S with what is described as a Porsche warranty fitted "gen 1.5" engine in 2010.

The wording certainly makes it sound like a gen 2 engine/cures gen 1 engine failure issues but I cannot see anything about this on the internet or have heard of it before.

I can only assume really this is a gen 1 engine perhaps with something upgraded.

Any knowledge in the PH masses?

I imagine the term Gen 1.5 refers to the upgraded IMS bearing Porsche started to fit during 997.1 M97 engine production ?

I'd give Baz or Grant at Hartech a call and they'll be able to confirm.

Seems most likely. So 2006 on engines.

defo the IMS change, there wasn't other meaningful change until gen 2.

Gen 1.5 was the small window when Gen 1 Turbos got the Gen 2 PCM unit and couple of other changes but retained Metzger power unit
