Laurent Mekies from Ferrari and Peter Bayer in from his position in the FIA. Tost to retire.

Speculation abound that bigger changes are in the pipeline for Alpha Tauri.

The Race have an article up now from Mark Hughes who emphasises the loss to Ferrari.

I get the feeling that, following the passing of Mateschitz and the retirement of Tost, the team will be up for sale pretty soon.

Will Andretti buy the entry and the IP, and relocate the factory; or can another OEM carmaker be persuaded to join the party, now that we have a cost cap and better prize money?

Comments aren't great on that article. Will be interesting to see if he can make a change at AT next year.

I wouldn't pay a lot of attention to those personally!

I really didn't know what to make of all this. I knew who Mekies was only because he can be seen on the TV coverage on the Ferrari pitwall. I don't think I've ever heard him interviewed and I don't remember him from Minardi / Toro Rosso.

However a bit of a Ferrari exodus does support my view that managing Binotto out was not a positive move.

Bit surprised Franz Tost has retired TBH I thought he'd carry on for years. What kind of leader is Mekies? May be Red Bull's loss as well as Ferrari's...

Franz is toast lol.
For a red bullstter ,sorry red bull sister team with the same engine they seem to have been a bit rubbish. Like its a cozy little job with no stress as the big brother is doing so well.
A shake up was needed but I guess he was well over quitting age for such a job. Should be a consultant like Lauda was.

Can't help but think he was pushed out after saying he didn't trust his engineers any more. As someone mentioned earlier Franz Tost, like Frank Williams, expected to be/were F1 lifers.
