M3 SMG upgrade to CSL software
Discussion
I am still trying to work out what to replace my Chimera 500 with and the decision seems to change daily 911, M coupe, boxster, Noble but an E46 M3 has been at the top of the list for a while as an everyday car.
One of the main reasons for getting rid of the Chim was the heavy clutch (no I'm not being feeble I injured my knee whilst skiing a few years ago and it gets irritated in heavy traffic) and so I have thought about getting an M3 with SMG box rather than manual. I have heard about several software upgrades which have gone on throughout the life of the E46 to make the gear box better but I can't find out if it is possible to run the standard car with the CSL' software and would this make a worthwhile difference?
Any advice Would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

I don't think so, but you can get it upgraded to the latest release. The normal SMG software is fine. It's just a bit sharper in the CSL. Ask the question at www.bm3w.co.uk.
