993RS strange noise

My RS makes a funny noise if it has been left out in the rain. When I turn the steering, especially at low speeds, almost lock to lock I get a knocking or groaning noise coming from the front of the car. Only happened twice when the car has been out overnight (at foreign trackdays) and goes away shortly afterwards. Anyone any ideas ?

I had a similar thing on my old Clubsport last year particularly after track days...I didn't beleive the cure,but top specialist told me that i had probably glazed pads / discs.....I rubbed down pads and discs with emery paper and the problem went away.
It felt more like a vibration through the steering at very low speeds and never affected the braking performance...Give this a try at least it doesn't cost much...

Knocking noises on extreme lock in RSs are normally associated with clunking diffs. Not sure what a noise from the *front* of the car would be from.

Its an odd one, my 1st thought was the power steering rack, with the oil getting too hot after frantic track action, but why only in the wet hmmm beats me.
