4 months old car 3000 miles. Noticed this bulge in the leather only on the driver side. To be honest passenger seat has not been used much. Is it a common problem. Disappointed though as it shouldn’t happen. Any views ?

I think that this is a common finding.
Our Taycan has this at 24K, but my 991 is fine at 27K. Maybe standards are slipping??

Had the same issue on my previous 718. I was so concerned I took it back to my OPC and they said it's within parameters and to remember leather is a natural product and will stretch. You can reduce it a little by either heating GENTLY with a hair dryer or if you put a damp microfibre in the microwave for a couple of minutes and then place onto the seat the leather will contract however there's a pretty good chance it will come back. One of the reasons I don't like leather seats.

Fair enough that leather stretches etc, but it’s definitely become a thinner piece in that area on the newer cars. Basically a thin scrap of material with multiple perforations. Can they not apply it to a decent bit of lining. Mercs seem to suffer with this too.

Had similar on my last car, a BMW M4 Comp. Looked at others cars and those for sale in the showrooms, and they were the same so just accepted that's the way they are.
