That would be out of the frying pan.

In US cities that are used to good weather, when anything falls out of the sky the entire road system grinds to a half.

It snowed in Atlanta, maybe an inch, slightly out of season. People abandonded their cars on I285 thinking they would get stuck.

Just thinking similar. The weather is more than pants. Seems summer missed the UK this year

Shame it's so hard for engineers to emigrate to the USA- else I would have already done it

Whilst i appreciate the point (and it is a good one) at least i would get a tan the rest of the year round and not have to look like a pasty ghost most of the year!!

You're cheesed off - well, I've got to ride my motorbike in this crappy weather for about 35 miles this evening.....but there's still not a whelks chance in a supernova that I 'd ever emigrate to the US. Unless, of course, Minnie Driver wanted me to live with her in Malibu.

They drive VERY slow in the US, and there is no such thing as lane discipline. I'm not sure you would find it that much better!

Last time I went to the states I was only too pleased to get back on the plane.

Despite the best efforts of Tony and his cronies to flush this country down the toilet, the grass isn't greener on the other side of the pond.

LA is not America! It is the cultural center for the "People's Republic of California"!

quite like this country... granted it's not perfect, but then the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Remember, if you have an unpleasant vist to the US, go back to another region. The US is about 4,000 miles across and the regions are as different from one another(people, climate, weather, etc.)as different countries are from one another.

Where I am its like an endless forest. trees as far as the eye can see! Great countryside, and very green. I miss England, but I prefer the lifestyle here... Much more leisure orientated, and relaxing.

I been to quite a few countries in the course of my work, and have liked some and enjoyed meeting the local people (and sometimes the local academics ). Nevertheless I like the UK best for just about everything - the weather, the countryside, the beer, and most especially the British people themselves.

(Doesn't mean there isn't quite a lot I'd like to change mind you!)
