Hi there

Is there any way one could check whether a Porsche 964 Speedo has been turned back?? i.e. Does the Computer store the mileage ?

Thanks for any comments?

Computer doesn't store it and if done properly is impossible to check. You have to rely on service book/bills etc. Although all these can be fiddled as well it would take a proper job and lots of effort to get everything tying up.

Check the overall contidion of the car too. That should give you a good feel for how many miles it's done.

You could write/phone/fax DVLA and ask to see the records for the vehicle. The last owner may have completed the section on the V5 which asks for the current mileage on transfer to new owner. It is not compulsory but I think a lot of decent people do it so there is a record against clocking.

There is a sure fire way of knowing if ya 911 speedo had been fiddled with or is not the right one for the car. Im not revealing it on here tho in case any dodgy gits are reading. So if you are interested drop me a mail off line and if I like the cut of ya jib I might reveal a secret of 2..
